The following link is to a music video called "working class hero". It was orignally sung by the Beatles but Greenday reworked it as a call to end the violence in Sudan. This is one of the most touching and heart breaking music videos I have ever seen.

http://www.videocodezone.com/videos/g/green_day/working_class_hero.html

The following are the lyrics for the song "Working class hero". please watch the video and then read the lyrics. This music video was played during the finals of the American Idol where most of America was shown that there is something beyond their boarders and it is not the most wonderful thing in the world...no in fact it is horrible.

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
[Working Class Hero lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like all the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

The War

All I know is that over a hundred thousand people have died in the war in Iraq. lead singer of Angels and Airwaves wrote the following song "The War" about the war that is being fought in Iraq. I personally was impressed about how lead singer Tom DeLonge didn't take either side of the war. He stated in an interview that he was not educated enough to take a pro or anti war stance on the war, but "over a hundred thousand people have died". I agree and find myself thinking along the same lines as DeLonge. I don't have all the facts about the war that’s going on. I don't presume to know what its like to be fighting over there so I am not gonna say I do. However I do know a lot of people are dying over there. If you look back through history, it’s filled with three things, war that leads to peace and that leads to complacency. While that is a totally different blog to write about I want to focus on the wars. I was sitting in western civ the other day and I realized that many of the wars that are fought through out history, all that was accomplished was a lot of people are dead. Want to know a more interesting thing? Those wars that ended with a lot of people dead and nothing accomplished are religious wars. How scary is that? The war that is being fought in Iraq is a religious war even if people wont admit it. This conflict stems from ancient days and will continue until the second coming of Christ. Why does that even matter? Well like I stated before most of the religious conflicts end in a lot of people dead and nothing changed. It is very possible that this war in Iraq will be the same. Read the following lyrics and let me know what you think. Its called “The War” by Angels and Airwaves.

The ocean, is on fire
The sky turned dark again
As the boats came in
And the beaches
Stretched out with soldiers
With their arms and guns
It has just begun

Believe, you want this
Believe, I want this too

Why wont you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this?
Tear my head
Inside out

And the houses
Laid out like targets
With the deafening sound
We watched them all go down
And the families
Now useless bodies
They lay still black and blue
A gift from us to you

Believe, you want this
Believe, I want this too

Why wont you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this?
Tear my head
Inside out

Oh oh oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh, oh oh (Believe)
Oh oh oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh, oh oh (Believe, you want this too)
Oh oh oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh, oh oh

Why wont you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this?
Tear my head
Inside out

Why wont you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this?
Tear my head
Inside out

The Lord givith and the Lord take away. Oh how true is this. And how much does He do it in the blink of an eye. And how much more is He forgiving? The Lord and I were having a talk the other day and we were discussing the matter of me not being as close to Him lately as I should be. He was talking to me about the passion and fire I have for my relationship with JC. Doing what I could to pursue her and all of that. Well He was telling me that I needed to focus that energy onto Him first. God is the person first in my life and I had been neglecting Him quite harshly.  He was also telling me that there was no way He was going to just answer my prayers and reveal Himself to me. When I asked Him why He simply replied "you don't pursue me, your not close to me. I am not one to through myself at someone, so why would I?".

It made total sense to me. He reminded me that He is a jelious God who wont share.

Smiling God looked at me and said "I gave you that relationship to make you stonger then you could be alone. You and her are great together but I wont compromise my time with you. I gave it to you and I will take it away."

Wait a minuet God, just hold on a second I said. You would take something away for me that made me so happy? I just nodded. Wait a second, thats not fair! I protested.

He nodded again and said. "I gave it to you didn't I? I gave it to you to make you stronger and to make you get closer to me."

"thats not cool God! what am I suppose to do?" I asked

"spend time with me, pursue me, have daily contact with me. we are friends, best friends. I am not asking for all your time, just some time. every day. talk to me let me know what your going through. just talk to me." was the answer.

"I see God. well thats not to hard at all." I said

He just nodded again. "yeah not to hard at all."
